Berkshire Young Farmers Country Fayre

21st June 2008

Keep Mobile was at the Berkshire Young Farmers Country Fayre at White House Farm in Spencers Wood on Saturday 21st June 2008.

Hundreds of visitors came to our stall and the children had great fun trying to win a prize by netting a duck from our paddling pool (which was filled with water direct from a restored fire engine thanks to a group of enthusiasts at the show).  Meanwhile the adults tried their hand at the tombola with a chance to win prizes donated by a number of local and national organisations including Waitrose, Morrisons, HMV, Robert Dyas, The Lookout in Bracknell, Coral Reef, Game, South West Trains and Reading Football Club.

Our stall of home made cakes also proved popular and sold out by mid afternoon.

The highlight of the afternoon was the release of 200 balloons in our 15th Anniversary Balloon Race.  Each one carried the name of a member or visitor to the show on the day - all hoping to win the £100 prize for the one which travelled the furthest.

The wind took them to the north of London with the winning balloon travelling 247 kms before coming to earth in Norfolk.
