Through a combination of fund-raising and grants we have a fleet of vehicles capable of transporting those in wheelchairs or who have difficulty in negotiating steps found on other forms of public transport.

Our drivers are trained to national standards for this work and we now have our own MiDAS Driver Assessor/Trainer through the Community Transport Association’s Minibus Driver’s Awareness Scheme. Together with our high standards of vehicle maintenance we are able to offer a safe and reliable form of transport for our passengers. |

All our services are door to door – passengers do not have to make their way to a central pick up point or wait outside in inclement weather. We now have nearly 5,000 people using our service and undertake around 15,000 trips per year. Our vehicles travel some 250,000 miles per year. Our services include Dial a Ride where members can telephone to book a journey anywhere they require at a time to suit them. This is subject to vehicle and driver availability, but we will confirm a pick up time and a price. This service is now partly funded by Wokingham and Bracknell Forest Borough Council. Each week we run a shopping trip to a specified town with sufficient time to shop or meet friends. Where necessary we provide an escort for those requiring help i.e. wheelchair users. We run day excursions to places of interests. Details are published in our monthly programme. We also undertake contract work for other voluntary organisations including Stroke Clubs, Arthritis Care, Polio Fellowship, Berkshire Blind, Alzheimer’s Association, Social Services and the Health Authority. We can also provide full venue booking including entrance fees. Click here to return to front page Page updated 25/01/2006 |
