Keep Mobile |
Keep Mobile is a voluntary organisation which was established in 1992 and registered as a charity through the Industrial & Provident Society in February 1993. Our mission is to help those in the Wokingham Borough and Bracknell Forest Borough Council areas unable to use ordinary transport to reach their destination, wherever that may be, and to have as much of an independent life as possible with regard to transport.
Through a combination of fund-raising and grants we have a fleet of vehicles capable of transporting those in wheelchairs or who have difficulty in negotiating steps found on other forms of public transport.
Our drivers are trained to national standards for this work and we now have our own MiDAS Driver Assessor/Trainer through the Community Transport Association’s Minibus Driver’s Awareness Scheme. Together with our high standards of vehicle maintenance we are able to offer a safe and reliable form of transport for our passengers. |
All our services are door to door – passengers do not have to make their way to a central pick up point or wait outside in inclement weather.
We now have nearly 5,000 people using our service and undertake around 15,000 trips per year. Our vehicles travel some 250,000 miles per year.
