Individual
Membership
Membership is open to
anyone who is disabled (whatever age) and the elderly over the age of 70.
Self certification is all that is needed, there is normally no independent
evidence required. You will also need to reside in the areas covered by
either Bracknell Forest Borough Council or Wokingham Borough Council.
There is a lifetime membership fee of £1.00, which enables you to use our
Dial a Ride and Shopping services. Additionally there is an annual
subscription fee (as determined by the society) if members require access to
our other services by way of the monthly programme and bi-monthly newsletter,
also an invitation to our Annual General Meeting and the right to vote at the
Committee elections.
Group Membership
Membership is open to
any group which operates "not for profit". Our prime purpose
is to provide a service for those people unable to use other forms of
transport. It should be noted that under the Road Traffic Act 1985,
Section 19 entitles us to operate for hire or reward provided there is no
view to profit, nor incidentally to an activity which is itself carried on
with a view to profit. The running of a home for profit would be deemed
to be such an activity. We can provide transport for any group at your
home such as the "Friends of" or "Social Club" provided
they have no connection with the management of the for profit organisation.
No payment can be received from an organisation operating for profit - we
have no discretion over this - it is the law.
Your group must operate within,
or for residents of, Wokingham or Bracknell Forest Borough councils, but we
can travel anywhere outside these areas. There is a one off membership
fee of £5.00, which enables you to use our Contract service subject to
availability.
Bookings
All excursions are
bookable from the time of publication. Telephone bookings are accepted for
Dial a Ride and scheduled shopping buses on 0845 3456 696 but cannot be
accepted for day excursions, which have to be booked on the tear off portion
of the monthly programme. All travel is offered on the understanding that
seat belts will be used at all times and wheelchairs are maintained in good
condition (to enable correct clamping). Dial a Ride bookings require at
least 2 working days notice for weekday transport and a week for evening and
weekend transport. No smoking is allowed on our buses.
Payments
· Excursions - Once tickets for excursions are issued
payment is required within 14 days. If payment is not received by the trip
date you will not be collected.
· Dial a Ride – Full correct fare (no
large notes) is payable on your outward journey.
· Scheduled Shopping – Fare is payable
on the bus.
Departures
(excursions)
Times shown on our
programme are for the first pick up. Depending on how many
people we have to collect, this can take up to two hours after
the stated time. We hope that you will be patient with us and help by being
as ready as you can when we arrive.
Prices
All prices are for
travel only. No meals, refreshments or entrance fees are included unless
otherwise stated.
Cancellations Any refunds are subject to the following:
Day Excursions
· Cancellations up to 10 days prior to date
of travel: full refund
· Cancellations within 10 days of date of
travel: 90% refund if we can sell your ticket.
· No refund if we are unable to sell the
ticket.
· Cancellations within 48 hours of date of
travel: No refund
DAR/Scheduled Routes
Full fare must be paid for all
trips booked, unless we are notified of cancellation prior to the
vehicle leaving the depot that morning to follow its schedule.
Should KEEP MOBILE have
to cancel any trip for whatever reason a full refund will be given.
